Product Updates - 2/9/26 Release
This release delivers powerful improvements to how firms manage referrals, track case outcomes, and collaborate with partners—while strengthening key integrations and tightening overall reliability. The updates below are now live for all Case Xchange customers.
New Features
1. New resolution fields and closing workflows
Enhanced Resolution Information
We’ve expanded the Resolution Information section so receiving firms can better track pre‑settlement data and eventual outcomes:
- Lead attorney name
- Statute of limitations expiration
- Client fee agreement percentage
- Estimated date of resolution
- Projected settlement amount
- Phase
- Sending firm percentage
- Estimated Distribution Date
Unified “Closing” workflow
Instead of choosing separate “Won,” “Lost,” or “Closed” statuses, users now move cases to Closing and select a Closing Status:
- Won/Settled
- Lost
- No Longer Pursuing (with required closure reason; case moves to Closed automatically)
- Closing Status is displayed alongside the case status, and analytics/integrations have been updated to reflect this model.
2. Messaging between firms (without changing status)
Message-style case updates
Users can now send messages on a case that:
- Appears on the case timeline
- Does not change the case status
- Update the last updated date of the case
3. Test cases for training and sandboxing
Self-service test case creation
A new Test Case tab in settings allows users to:
- Create a case with customized information
- Automatically assign their own firm as the receiving firm and the test firm as the sending firm
All such cases are automatically archived after 2 weeks, including any cases created/sent to that account via this flow.
4. New “Source” tracking for sending firms
Sending firms get a new Source field designed for lead tracking
Improvements to Existing Features
1. Controlled creation of other firms
- Only Available to firms bringing their own network
-
Stronger controls when adding firms to your network
When a firm creates another firm via its network, we now require:- Name
- Contact Email
- Website
- Full address
- This then enables the firm to be claimed directly without admin intervention
- Additionally if the email or website domain matches an existing firm, users are prompted to create a network relationship instead of a duplicate firm.
2. Filters, tables, and routing consistency
Improved “Select All” filtering
Filters on Sent/Received pages now behave like a standard “Select All”:
- You can select all options, then deselect just a few leaving the rest selected
- This behavior now matches what users already see in routing rules and email routing.
3. Larger file uploads
Increased upload limits
The platform now supports larger file uploads (up from 1 MB to approximately 10 MB), making it easier to attach robust PDFs and supporting documents to cases.
Integrations
1. SmartAdvocate push integration
New SmartAdvocate integration
Case Xchange can now push cases directly to SmartAdvocate. Request access via the integration page in settings.
2. Status & API behavior
Status updates via API
Introduced (or consolidated) status updates into the general update case endpoint, honoring the existing status transition rules. This behavior is also supported by the Zapier configuration for case updates.
Bug Fixes
1. Navigation & usability
Back button remembers the correct page
When navigating from Sent or Received lists, clicking into a case and then using the Back button in the UI will now return you to the same page you were previously on, not always page 1.
2. Time zones in analytics
Analytics now respect local time zones
Dates in analytics previously relied on UTC, which could misalign with user expectations.
They are now localized to the viewing user’s time zone, improving the accuracy of reports and dashboards.
